Freshly developed websites require a complete audit to make sure everything works properly and it is optimised effectively for our users to feel comfortable and be able to access all information on our websites.
Google prefers and promotes those pages that are likely to bring a good experience to its user base. While technical setup is just a small part of relevance metrics Google uses, it may be a blocker that will block the website from having any exposure on Google Search.

1. Pingdom Tools
It allows measuring the speed of website delivery to the user.
Pingdom Tools allows usto measure the download speed of our websites. Keep in mind that user downloads all website assets – html, css, js, images, etc. – separately, there’s a room for improvements. Pingdom lists those possible improvements for you.
2. PageSpeed Insights
It measures and validates all performance on user side of the website delivery and formatting.
pageSpeed Insights is a tool developed by Google themselves. This tool will validates the website against four major validation groups:
- Performance - how long does it take to draw the website in the browser
- Accessibility - does the website follows visual standarts (button sizes, font sizes, contrast, etc)
- Best practices - is website delivery optimised for optimal and reasonable load time
- SEO - is website content well formatted for Google to be able to read it

3. Semrush
Site Audit tool is great to catch SEO errors and warnings.
Semrush is a paid tool, yet it’s commonly used for many SEO tasks. Site Audit is just one of the processes it can cover for us. The biggest difference between PageSpeed Insights and Semrush Site Audit is that PageSpeed Insights focuses on a single page while Semrush reports on the whole website.

We’re meant to work on all phases of the project – development, publishing and maintaining – in order to reach best results. Yet, it’s also possible to have us taking ownership over each phases separately.
Keep in mind that reporting can be limited by any issues in tracking, ads or website setup. It’s important to have either a good plan or only one side covering all website aspects to escape any blocking issues.
